Latest Updates from Our Project:

Keepers

Hi everyone,

first of all, we apologise for our absence on Kickstarter lately, but unfortunately a problem placed us out of action for a good couple of weeks.

A few thugs paid us a visit at the studio a couple of weeks ago after the Kickstarter campaign to steal our computers and a TV, but the most damage was inflicted on the window they used to get in and the security door they used to get out.

This forced us to make a quick transfer to another office (although I must admit the new one is much nicer) and a subsequent loss of time while we were waiting to get our new PCs, electricity and a phone line.

We’re still looking over all the files, but it looks like we may have saved everything.

Unfortunately these things happen to those who hang out with Spriggan, Hunter and Bull-y all day long :)

Note the door where it looks like a Bull-y passed through.
Note the door where it looks like a Bull-y passed through.

We’re taking up where we left off, trying to recover twenty odd days of work.

On the development front, we’re playtesting Kyrone now, inserting it as an encounter and a generic enemy, together with his centaurs in the main campaign.

Marco and Luca are looking after the plot, on which his mini campaign will be developed as a Nemesis. In fact, we have decided that one mission for a character as epic as this one just isn’t enough.

We’ll move on to Pandora straight after that. Before anything else, we’d like to finish the richer expansions before inserting the SGs; first those relative to the new units, which will be easier with respect to the additional missions and Nemesis.

Shortly, we hope to show you some new images and models.

Essen 2017

We’re looking for valid helpers for Essen Spiel 2017, where we’ll be bringing a demo of the game (in addition to the Nova Aetas and Black Rose Wars demos). If there any locals out there or if anyone is planning on visiting the show, please contact us with details of the days and times when you're available. We’ll supply you with some free materials (Nova Aetas) or vouchers that you can spend on the Pledge Manager or our online store.

For all other information, write to [email protected].

You’ll also find Ashes No. 4

It’s a bit early for the Sine Tempore P&P, but to appreciate the mechanics of the game, you can try the Nova Aetas one.

This issue also includes the conclusion to the bonus mini campaign of 4 missions. Moreover, you’ll find various articles that will shed light on the background of our games and give an insight into upcoming games.

As always, we look forward to your feedback so we can keep growing and improving.

Support We’ve opened a page for LMS support.

Here, you can find up-to-date information on different topics, above all on shipments, refunds and pledge managers: https://ludusmagnusstudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

For all questions about rules, please go to the regular social pages, especially on BGG.

Stay tuned!

We're back!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Jun 20, 2017 at 11:07:39 PM

Hi everyone,

here we are, back again after a short break. So to say... in reality we’ve been busily planning all the works ahead of us.

Sine Tempore We had a truly great run, beyond all our expectations, so thanks again for all your support.

We spent the whole of last week trying to figure out the best way to plan and optimise the work ahead of us.

If there are no setbacks (but we know they’re always hiding around the corner, ready to hit you when you least expect it), we should be able to deliver the game within the estimated timeframes.

This isn't a promise - experience has taught us that the more successful a campaign and the more work there is to do, the greater the risk of delays. But of course, setting a few clear objectives will help us keep the margin for risk to a minimum.

We’re re-reading the rulebook as we speak and we hope to finalise it with all the necessary amendments following the kickstarter campaign by the end of July. After which, it will be translated and published for your approval.

The rulebook will be corrected in steps, for example the correct interpretation of phrases or vocabulary used to define various game elements.

Pledge manager (PM)

The PM will open in August and will stay open for about two months. If there are lots of requests for Late Pledges, we will consider whether or not to open it again in November for a short period.

Nova Aetas will also be available in the PM, including the non KSe SGs and add-ons.

Keep in mind that this is considered a different Kickstarter and we won’t be able to send it with the Sine Tempore material, so shipping costs will be calculated separately. There is no way that we can combine the shipment of the two games.

BGG contest

During the Sine Tempore campaign, many of you participated in a contest launched on BGG.

The lucky winners are:

Grand Prize (Sine Tempore Explorer Pledge + Kyrone Box + Motherfang Box!):  Christopher Anderson

First Runner-Up (Sine Tempore Explorer Pledge!): Chad Maltais

Second Runner-Up (Sine Tempore Traveller Pledge!):  Chef Kevin

Nova Aetas

Those of you who have known us since the days of Nova Aetas will be aware that we’ve done some major editing of the rulebook and plotbook. This is a job that will continue until halfway through August, before we go to print for the second wave.

Nova Aetas was an excellent test bench for us and really helped us to understand both our strong points and our limits.

We know that the game and its mechanics are worthy, smooth and functional. Now we also know the importance of having a professional editor.

Stay tuned!

Scilla
almost 7 years ago – Sat, Jun 10, 2017 at 12:49:24 AM

The bay of Scilla has forever been considered a place of mysterious beauty, where the tall, grey cliffs stand out against the light blue sky and the dark blue sea.

The last thing you'd expect to see is the Krabnock Farm: a diverse built-up area of tents and structures created by the Spriggans to breed the massive crustaceans of the crystal bay.

This is where the young fauns look after the Krabnocks until they hatch, protecting them from the predatory birds with the sound of gunfire and screams, in pure Spriggan style.

The most audacious farmers train the crustaceans so they can be used as powerful diggers or reliable riding beasts for hunting. The most whimsical Spriggans on the other hand, tend to modify the shell of their Krabnock friends, decorating it with designs and empowering it with weapons that are just as lethal as they are unreliable.

The director of the farm is Caliboss, more commonly known as the Red.

He is the pirate Spriggan that risked his life in that very bay following a terrible storm. The Red would have been left clutching onto his treasure had it not been for an old Krabnock, which incredibly saved his life. It’s not for us to know what the crustacean saw in that crabby old faun. What we do know is that on that day, Caliboss lost a fortune, but found a new and indispensable friend.

Stay tuned and Spread the words!

Hydra
almost 7 years ago – Sat, Jun 10, 2017 at 12:49:13 AM

Hydra is the custodian of the Blood of Gaea, from the depths of the abysses protecting the heart of Primaevus.

This last Nemesis of the Sine Tempore campaign will lead you to an encounter with the most terrifying of adversaries!

The most challenging leg of the Genesis journey is on the horizon!

Before confronting this almighty powerful adversary, you might need some training! No problem, now you can activate the Genesis virtual training room.

With this SG, you will unlock a new tile representative of two versions of the Genesis training room. In this room, you will face a wave of virtual enemies (any type of enemy).

Each player can put themselves to the test and whoever survives the most waves will be rewarded with a special achievement!

You can face the VR room whenever you want during the colony phase!

Tiberius, the primate of the eternal ice lands of Silicio, is the latest victim of the wicked game being played out by Andromeda 1.0.

The Gynoid’s devious mind nurtured a growing obsession for these wild creatures with every passing day, so much so that using organic material obtained from the Kraken crew, she created simulacra inspired by them: the Babooms.

But Andromeda wished to restrain the violence of the beasts living in the ice cavities deep in the gelid planes of Silicio.

Tiberius was the only specimen intrepid enough to approach Kraken, whether to look for food or out of sheer curiosity, allured by the numerous Babooms roaming around the scrap metal surrounding the spaceship.

The ape found himself before one of the ship’s doors, swung wide open, offering him a terrifying welcome. The minute he stepped through, the door slowly closed behind him, the darkness enveloped him.

From that moment on, the almighty Tiberius was deployed against his will by the malevolent Gynoid. Andromeda 1.0 had succeeded in her mission: to tame the wild spirit of Silicio to her will. Who could stop her now?

Stay tuned for the last update!

Say hello!
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jun 09, 2017 at 10:38:59 PM

Our fantastic journey has finally come to an end.

It has been unbelievable, exhausting and most of all heaps of fun.

We have met loads of beautiful people that have supported us and put up with us, despite our poor English (a free pledge to Google translate), the errors that occasionally appeared in the images and the links didn’t always work!

You have been absolutely excellent and full of initiatives and our success is largely a credit to you.

We would like to name a few of you to personally acknowledge the way you helped us reach our goal, but we won't in case we forget someone... you know who you are.

For us, the end of this journey represents the start of a new one. Our mission now, our toughest one yet, is to succeed in repaying you all for your trust.

Next week we will take a good long rest, we ask for your forgiveness in advance if we don't participate in all of the conversations. But we’ll be back stronger than ever from 19th June.

To thank you, we would like to salute you with a small gift containing: 4 trunks, 4 barrels and 4 computers in PVC to enhance the look of your board game and a set of 5 generic mission cards, the missing equipment for various heroes, Etna, Arcade and Beli’ar, which you will use to connect exploratory missions randomly drawn with missions made by yourselves or found in Ashes (we hope to see them appear on BGG in the future too).
