Ares unleashed!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Jun 06, 2017 at 01:15:39 PM

In this update, we are proud to present Ares, a real God, ready to step onto the battlefield and challenge the best warriors of the galaxy! The war with the Titans is fast approaching and Ares is looking for soldiers, but to fight alongside a God, you need to prove your worth.

The Ares model is the first product of the collaboration between LMS and Kimera Models, which created the Ares concept and sculpture  for their range of Elysium 3030.

With the artistic direction of Francesco Farabi, a world famous painter and the only person to win - two years running - the prestigious Slayer Sword, and a young and dynamic team of professionals, Kimera Models is an Italian company firmly making its mark in the market for 75 mm models.

The collaboration between LMS and KM will lead to the production of new miniatures, both to play with and as collectors’ items, produced by both companies, but most of all, the creation of games based on two of Kimera’s main production lines: Pulvis, a dark fantasy setting and Elysium 3030, whence the magnificent Ares originates, who we introduce in this KS campaign.

Spotlight on Ares
Spotlight on Ares

The epic battle between Ares and the Genesis crew is represented by a new Nemesis Mission! Yes, as you may well have understood, Ares is a new Nemesis with whom Achab and the others will need to fight it out so as not to die in... divine ways! Defeating the living incarnation of a God won’t be easy and our heroes will need to cash in all their resources to survive. But if they win, their glory will be eternal (and the rewards will be fantastic!). As always, you can insert the Ares Nemesis Mission into whatever campaign you’re playing, whether Core Box, Silicio or Pandora... oops, spoiler!

Dice dice dice

As you may have seen in the add-on section, we have inserted the new dice to play Sine Tempore. These dice are exactly like the ones you’ll find in the box. They add nothing to the game, but are sparkly and can be used to further personalise your favourite hero.

We have selected some exclusive colours, which to us seemed most appropriate to create a strong contrast with the game colours, while nonetheless keeping with the theme, with a futuristic and psychedelic feel. We have two other colours in store, which we will add to the add-ons if we reach the 450K mark: black and orange. In total, we’d like to have 7 different colours, including the white ones in the core box, one for each class (excluding the Blessed Weapons, which don't have an actual class).

Speaking of translations...

As you all know, we’re doing our best to satisfy all backers who’d like the Sine Tempore box in their native language. We have already informed you that those who wish to receive the core box in Italian and French can specify their selected language when finalising the order in the PM. In regards to German and Spanish, after the campaign we’ll conduct a survey and if there is a sufficient number of backers that would like the core box in one of these two languages, we’ll figure out a way to satisfy them, even in the absence of an agreement with a local editor. Stay tuned for the final rush, the surprises aren’t over just yet!!

Etna!
almost 7 years ago – Mon, Jun 05, 2017 at 10:58:04 PM

We’ve reached the last few days of our journey and we have every intention of making them unforgettable!

First of all, in this update we’d like to give you some extra information about the last unlocked hero: the brilliant and accomplished Etna!

Etna was the engineer on-board the Kraken, and when things started to get out of hand he managed to save himself, fighting through the aberrations of Andromeda 1.0, using his faithful plasma sword.

He and Captain Arcade fought shoulder to shoulder as they were slowly overpowered by the Enemies.

Just as Andromeda was about to reach them, Etna hung back to block her way, allowing his captain to escape. Arcade thought he was dead.... until now.

Achab and his crew are about to discover the truth about Etna’s fate. After reaching Etna, Andromeda didn’t kill him, rather taking him prisoner. Her intention had been to make him her servant. Having seen his skills and physical strength, worthy of an Engineer-Soldier of Furgis Prime, she wanted to transform him into a formidable killing machine at her service.

What she hadn’t taken into account was the resistance his species would manifest for the transplants she attempted to perform. But the gynoid’s determination didn't wilter, not even in these circumstances. Unable to corrupt Etna’s body, Andromeda decided to try her luck with his mind, applying a mental inhibitor on the cyclops’ head, making him her slave without turning him into a machine.

Now he roams around Silicio in search of all Kraken’s survivors (first and forest Arcade) to bring them to his owner, who will see to their “rebirth”.

Will Achab and the others be able to find and free him from the subjugation of Andromeda 1.0? Find out in the new mission “He who searches”. In this mission, you will meet Etna as an enemy. If you win, you can add him to your crew!

In the meantime, as you will have seen, Achab’s terrible enemy has made his appearance, giving you a new Nemesis to confront!

The miniature sculpted by Fernando is based on an idea suggested by one of you, Rognon, and so that’s his name!

With the special “Black Hole” box, you have unlocked a handy and stylish box where you can store all your precious, hard-earned SGs won during this campaign. This isn’t any old cardboard box, but rather will be produced as if it were an expansion, therefore in high quality and with the cover it deserves.

The Obelisk is a new 3D element that will be added to those already in your possession, adding variety to your maps. As always, it will be accompanied by a terrain card containing all the information needed for its positioning and special rules.

The Obelisk will influence the Psionics (both Heroes and Enemies) around it, enhancing their powers beyond belief, but also opening up old wounds in the mind. Launching Psionic powers near it may prove to be very dangerous.

And now... a God is about to make its appearance on the battlefield... this is ARES!

Pandora is coming...

Stay tuned and spread the word!

Pets!
almost 7 years ago – Sun, Jun 04, 2017 at 01:02:33 AM

Pets

During certain missions, the Sine Tempore heroes will come across various indigenous alien species.

In some cases, they will be able to make friends with some of the animals. These may appear to be relatively docile, but with a bit of proper training they can become valuable sidekicks.

To receive the pets, the first thing you need to do is make one of the Genesis rooms into a zoo.

Generally speaking, pets give their owners new and exclusive skills.

A pet assigned to a hero can never change owner and will be removed from the game when the hero abandons the mission. If a hero dies, his or her pet will leave the Genesis forever.

Luperco is the only hero currently able to manage two pets, most likely because of his empathy for all things living. The other crew members can only have one pet.

The zoo can be improved to hold multiple pets. In this case, a hero can own multiple animals, although they can only bring one into battle.

You can find these Pets in our addon section!

Captain Arcade

Arcade is the captain of Kraken.

He can be unlocked only by playing Silicio (although there’s nothing stopping you from introducing him in any campaign).

The captain wanders through this cold and inhospitable alien world, where the ice and metal make all forms of exploration dangerous, looking for a way to take revenge.

His eyes still behold the memory of his crew’s warm blood strewn across the cold icy ground.

Arcade is convinced that they are all dead, or worse, that they have been transformed by Andromeda into killing machines. He can still hear the screams of O’thelmo, the Psionic that joined his crew, as life was leaving him behind underneath the medical instruments modified by the gynoid.

But is he really the only survivor?

And now, as usual, a spoiler...

Stay tuned and spread the word!

Spotlight on the Colony Phase
almost 7 years ago – Sat, Jun 03, 2017 at 12:35:50 AM

The colony phase is one of the most interesting parts of the game, allowing the crew to be managed through the Genesis.

Once a mission has been terminated, the heroes return to their spaceship for a debriefing and to lick their wounds. On the back of the Primaevus V map you’ll find a plan of the Genesis.

Each location has its own special rules:

The infirmary is where Alexandra uses healing capsules to cure heroes that have been seriously wounded during their missions. By further developing this room using the resources earned after an exploratory mission, the number of capsules and their efficacy can be increased.

The engineering laboratory is where Isaac enhances the heroes’ equipment items and invents new ones. The back of each equipment item shows a list of the materials needed to build and develop it. By improving this laboratory, you’ll have access to new equipment. Isaac’s laboratory also includes a machine needed to repair Andromeda 2.0, as she is a gynoid that cannot be healed in the infirmary.

The armoury/training room allows heroes the opportunity to obtain temporary bonuses for their equipment to use in their next mission. When further developed, the choice of bonuses will increase and heroes will also have the opportunity to pass these advantages on to their team mates. Here, it is also possible to learn new skills for your Hero.

The meditation room is where Jukas goes to recover his mental sanity. If he fails to use this room, he will start his next mission with several oblivion points, making him lose his mind even faster. If this room is improved, Jukas can enjoy several bonuses when using his Psionic powers.

The laboratory allows various raw materials to be transformed into other types of materials through complex chemical processes managed by the Genesis AI. When empowered, conversion costs and times are reduced.

The hangar is a storage area for various vehicles that can be used by the heroes, such as Molly’s Ducali or the A.D.E. if captured. If this room is further developed, several enhancements will be unlocked for these vehicles.

The warehouse allows different types of raw materials to be stored for longer than usual. There won't be much space at the beginning, but it can increase over time.

The control room is where Achab meets with his crew for a debriefing. In its basic version it provides access to the narrative missions when possible, but if developed, it guarantees tactical bonuses during these missions, for example entry to forbidden areas or escape from the battlefield before being seriously wounded after a KO.

All of these rooms are used not only by Achab’s crew members, but by all heroes in the same class. For example, Beli’ar can also use the meditation room, and Starbus can use the control room.

When a hero completes a mission with a KO status, they can only use the infirmary if there are enough capsules. They cannot fulfil their normal duties, for example Isaac cannot upgrade or build new objects because he won't have access to his laboratory.

New heroes that are unlocked during the exploration missions, or through the Nemesis missions, can join the crew and help out when needed. For example, if Achab is KO and forced into a capsule to recover, Captain Arcade can use the control room in his place.

By completing exploration missions, new materials will be available during the Colony Phase for the construction of equipment and development of rooms. If an exploration mission is lost, the territory will not be conquered and less materials will be available.

Completing a certain number of missions will also give access to a certain Narrative mission level. Exploration missions are divided into different categories, identified by the colour shown on the map. Each territory has its own colour and draws a random mission card from among those available.

The narrative missions develop the storyline and expand on the plot. They have a tree structure and victory or defeat will lead to different finales without inhibiting the narrative flow.

These missions give access to skills. Depending on the mission, you can obtain one or more skills by winning the game, but if the mission is lost you run the risk of not being able to advance.

The narrative missions lead your crew towards one of three possible finales. Thanks to an unlocked SG, you’ll be able to use the World Events.

At the end of a mission, as your crew is returning to the Genesis, you will draw one of these cards, which may change various aspects of your Colony Phase. For example, access to certain rooms may be blocked, you may lose your conquered territories (and the associated building materials), or you might even receive some new equipment. And that’s a wrap for the Colony Phase spoiler. I hope you have as much fun playing it as we had creating it!

And finally a better look to Captain Arcade

Art book
almost 7 years ago – Thu, Jun 01, 2017 at 12:39:46 AM

Hi everyone,

We’ll get straight onto the hot topic of the moment: multiple pledges.

During our study on previously funded Kickstarter campaigns we had found this formula, which allowed backers to make an additional pledge at the same cost as the first. This meant that those who were patient and lucky enough to grab an EB would have had a new possibility.

The idea was to create an additional boost in return, uploading the funds directly into the campaign so as to unlock new SGs.

To make up for our communication error and to ease any hard feelings, we have decided to free the number of pledges that can be purchased and allow them to be bought during the pledge manager.

In these two days, various SGs have been destroyed, one of which is very close to our hearts: the art book.

The aim of this book is not only to celebrate our entire artistic department, but also to reveal the behind-the-scenes of Sine Tempore.

There will be numerous sketches and WIP on the sculptures, a few insights on their development and difficulties encountered and above all background stories to create a sense of familiarity with the setting.

The new facebook SG is a fantastic exclusive lithograph of the cover of Silicio, signed by the author.

And also Goldie is here, straight afterwards another member of that crazy crew will close the circle of freebies. Or will not?

Resins We have added resin miniatures to the add-ons. There are miniatures of all models included in the core box split into 3 exclusive packages.

For those that love our models, we’re offering a bundle package (before the end of the campaign) at a cost of $80.

These miniatures feature an extremely high level of detail and are exceptional for those who want to venture into painting.

They don't add any rules to the game, so those who aren’t interested won't miss out on anything.

The Heroes package includes all the settlers, Achab, Alexandra, Jukas and Andromeda 2.0.

The second package is dedicated to the heart of the enemies, all the fauns in the core box. The last package is for the special units, Bull-y, Spriggan and Kid.

The last model dedicated to Nova Aetas has been unlocked: the Revenants.

The Revenants are constructed items, scrap waste of parts used by the Boogeyman to replace his deteriorated organic parts.

The dolls look for perfect prey to recover parts that may be useful to their owner.

The Revenants are their shields, continuously expendable and replaceable.

And now...spoiler...
